Wabasha man gets jail time in porn case

WABASHA — A Wabasha man charged with possessing and disseminating pornographic works involving adults and minors was sentenced Dec. 2 to 90 days in jail and seven years of probation.

Wabasha County District Court Judge Jeff Thompson sentenced Scott Matthew Veach, 37, to concurrent prison terms of 36 and 27 months but stayed the terms for seven years. Along with the probation, he ordered him to serve 90 days in jail and register as a predatory offender.

Veach was charged June 14 with three counts of disseminating pornographic works and two counts of possessing pornographic works involving minors, all felonies. He pleaded guilty in October to one count of each charge; in exchange for the pleas, the remaining charges were dismissed.

The complaint alleges Veach's home was searched June 13 and a computer seized. His files reportedly contained photos of adults and minors engaged in sex acts. The FBI identified 11 known child victims in the photos.

Law enforcement also obtained messages between Veach and another man talking about sex with minors.
