What do you know about the Goodhue jail's library?

CANNON FALLS — You can learn about the library at the Goodhue County Adult Detention Center in Red Wing, and add a book or two to it, at 10 a.m. Aug. 10 at the Shepherd's Center, 120 State Street West in Cannon Falls.

The talk by Janet Adams, program coordinator for the center, will be part of the monthly program of TRIAD - Citizens and Law Enforcement Partnership.

If you bring a book, here are some things to consider: they must be in good condition and not too old, and no books with extreme violence or sexual promiscuity. Oh yes, no more romance novels — the jail has enough and they are seldom read.

Popular choices are mystery, suspense and westerns as well as National Geographic magazines, Popular Mechanics, magazines about the trades — carpentry, electrical, This Old House, motorcycle repair and outdoors and sports magazines.
