WITOKA — A Winona woman was killed in a rollover accident Monday afternoon near Witoka in Winona County.
According to Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand, 18-year-old Tyler Gordon Huffman of Winona was driving on Wiscoy Ridge Road at about 1:43 p.m. Monday when he lost control on the gravel road and rolled the car.
A passenger in the vehicle, Betty Lynn Schueler, 35, of Winona, was found pinned under the car.
First responders from the Ridgeway Fire Department and Winona County Sheriff's Office lifted the car to pull her out, but she was dead at the scene, Brand said.
Brand said Schueler and Huffman knew each other because they lived in the same apartment complex.

Brand said Huffman told investigators that he had a driver's permit and that Schueler agreed to teach him how to drive.
They believe Schueler drove to Witoka and then later let Huffman drive. She had a valid driver's license, Brand said.
Both the sheriff's office and Minnesota State Patrol are investigating the accident.
