Two people allegedly assaulted a woman and tried to steal her purse Wednesday in southeast Rochester.
According to police Lt. Dan Muyres, the 53-year-old Rochester woman was walking in the 900 block of Fourth Avenue Southeast about 8 p.m. when two males rode past her on bicycles. A short while later, two people came up behind her on bicycles, hit her on the head and tried to grab her purse. She thought they were the same ones who rode past her.
The woman suffered a bump on the head and scuffed hands but didn't need medical treatment.
