AUSTIN — A 61-year-old woman took out a 20-foot section of fencing around Austin's new Hardee's restaurant after the gas pedal on her vehicle got stuck, according to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger.
The Austin woman, whom Krueger declined to identify by name, was traveling on 4th Street NW just after 10 a.m. when the alleged malfunction occurred. The restaurant building was not damaged, but the woman's vehicle did destroy a portion of the fencing.
Krueger said there's no damage estimate for the fencing. The vehicle was towed away with an undetermined amount of damage.
The woman was assessed for injuries by Gold Cross. She did not require medical attention, Krueger said.
