Woman hurt in fall from horse

A 54-year-old Rochester woman was injured Saturday when she was pinned under a horse, according to the Rochester Fire Department.

The woman fell off the horse around 8:10 p.m. in the 4800 block of Hadley Valley Road Northeast. The horse fell on the woman's leg, and she couldn't get free, said assistant fire marshal Larry Mueller.

Firefighters attached straps to the horse's legs to pull the animal away from the woman, who was taken to Saint Marys Hospital, Mueller said. The woman was no longer listed as a patient on Monday morning, according to a Mayo Clinic spokeswoman.
