TWIN LAKES — The woman who walked away from a private home in Twin Lakes south of Albert Lea Saturday and was later found dead has been identified as Mary Miller, 85.
The Freeborn County Sheriff's Department said she was living in a private home at the time.
The report received shortly after 7 a.m. was Miller, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease, left the home earlier that morning.
"An extensive search was initiated with the assistance from the Twin Lakes, Emmons, Albert Lea and the Albert Lea Township Fire Departments," the department said. "The Minnesota State Patrol also assisted in the search."
The woman was soon found nearby. Efforts to revive her failed.
