On Friday night, two women from Bear Creek Family Apartment were robbed of jewelry and cash at gunpoint.
At 10 p.m., two men wearing mask forced their way into a 44-year-old woman's apartment, at 1400 Marian Road in Rochester, and took jewelry and cash. The suspects used a gun and knife to force thir way into the apartment and to have the woman help them get into the apartment of a 39-year-old woman who also lived at Bear Creek. From the second apartment, the suspects took five pieces of gold jewelry before fleeing the scene.
Rochester Police Lt. Jeff Stilwell said the two suspects are believed to be Somali men, one tall and skinny. It's unknown if the victims knew the men, or how the men knew about the jewelry. The police have not released a monetary value on the stolen items.
The suspects remain at large.
