Work-flow study is the easy way out

After reading the story in the Nov. 8 Post Bulletin by Kay Fate, I was shocked to find that the Mower County Commissioners voted 4-1 to spend $45,000 to fund a study on work flow.

Every private sector business has specific parameters set forth in individual job descriptions. If these parameters are not being met, the supervisor (boss) of the person not meeting those standards is to step in and solve the problem. This is done by re-setting the parameters, or simply re-stating what is expected of the individuals. This is the supervisors (boss') responsibility.

With this being said, who is the supervisor in this situation? I believe it is the county commissioners. Rather than making a somewhat tough decision, the commissioners chose the easy way out. They chose to let someone else make the decision for them at a huge cost to the taxpayers.

I am simply asking the commissioners to do their job! Be good stewards of the taxpayers' money, but act when you need to do your job. Hats off to Commissioner Reinartz for casting the one dissenting vote.
