Young brothers killed in southern Minnesota crash

WINTHROP, Minn. — The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating an accident that killed two young brothers in southern Minnesota.

Eight-year-old Trevor Sommer and his 6-year-old brother, Dillan, were killed Monday when their father's car was struck from behind near their home. The patrol says the boys were not wearing seat belts.

Their father, Nathan Sommer, was about to turn into their driveway from Highway 19 near Winthrop in Sibley County when the car was rear-ended. The boys were in the back seat.

Sommer and his 3-year-old daughter, riding in the front seat, were treated for injuries, as was the driver of the other vehicle and her 5-year-old daughter.
