Gamehaven Council, Rochester, of the Boy Scouts of America broke ground Aug. 27 for the new community center at Gamehaven Scout Reservation. Construction on the building began this week, with funds from several donors in southeastern Minnesota.

Gamehaven Council encompasses a seven-county area and works with 1,500 adult volunteers, serving approximately 3,500 youths annually. The Scout camp provides summer camp and polar camp activities primarily for boys and girls ages 6 to 11. The new building will permit continuous year-round operation to serve Scouts and other organizations with a comfortable, safe place for activities.
