Humidity and an extreme heat advisory didn't keep the Cimarron neighbors from repainting their street mural on July 16. More than 40 neighbors from Cimarron and around Rochester came out in crazy heat to stop by and paint a bit on the "Unity" mural repaint. Lots of water was continually slurped by painters, and RNeighbors Board President Bob Nowicki even dropped by with ice cream treats. The next mural is in the Slatterly Park neighborhood on July 30. Despite extreme heat and high humidity, members of the Cimarron neighborhood in Rochester spent a summer Saturday morning this summer repainting their "Unity" street mural. The mural is on the intersection near 48th Street Northwest and 20 1/2 Avenue Northwest.

The neighborhood applied for and won an RColorful Corners street mural grant in 2009, and has continued to keep their intersection bright and vibrant. The RNeighbors nonprofit organizes these events.
