Norma K. Iverson, 87, of Wanamingo, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Angel’s Care Center in Cannon Falls.

A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, May 2, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wanamingo, with the Rev. Christopher Culuris officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, May 1, 2011, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mahn Family Funeral Home – Larson Chapel, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.

Norma Katherine Iverson was born on April 6, 1924, in Kenyon, to Thomas and Tilda (Holt) Haugen. She attended Kenyon schools and was confirmed at Vang Lutheran Church. In 1942 she married Adolph Svien at the Dennison Lutheran Church. They lived in the Dennison area and later moved to Northfield. Adolph died in April 1951. Norma worked various jobs. She met Arvin Iverson and they were married on April 16, 1955, at the Dennison Lutheran Church, and lived in Wanamingo on the family farm. Arvin died June 12, 1979. She worked 22 years at Maple Island in Wanamingo until retiring.

She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Norma is survived by her children, Rod Svien of Wanamingo, Robert Svien of Northfield, Renee (Jim) Hill of Kenyon and Pam (Marlon) Sviggum of Wanamingo; four grandchildren, Chris (Amy) Hill, Melissa (Ben) Hessenius, Jeff Svien (Lindsey Williams) and Nick Sviggum; three great-grandchildren, Lydia and Mitchell Hessenius and Tyler Peterson; many nieces and nephews; two sisters, Valdine Engeseth of McHenry, Ill., and LouAnn (Jim) Lervik of Northfield; one brother, Don (Marilyn) Haugen of Dennison; and three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell Haugen and Herb Haugen, two sisters, Meredith Lien and Hazel Dammer and one infant daughter, Linda Svien.

Memorial are preferred to the donors choice.
