Northwest Rochester complex sold for $1.46 million

A northwest Rochester office complex that houses a psychiatric clinic sold for $1.46 million last week.

The 6,000-square-foot complex at 3101 Superior Drive NW was purchased by 3101 Superior LLCof Oak Park, Ill., on Aug. 15.

That's the building where the Rochester office of Associates in Psychiatry & Psychology is located. APP also has a Faribault location.

The building was sold by Patton Holdings LLCof Rochester. Dr. Bonita Pattonbuilt the complex in 2015 to house her clinic. She passed away in 2018.

Olmsted County estimated the total market value of the building at $1.22 million for 2018-2019.

The Ninjas are coming to the Med City.

Norma Flores-Ibarra and her husband, Daniel Flores-Ibarra, are ready to open a Code Ninjas center at 26 17th Ave. NW in the Miracle Mile Shopping Centeron Saturday. It's located next to the ABC Toy Zone.

Texas-based Code Ninjas, which has four locations in the Twin Cities, is a hands-on educational center that teaches kids ages 7-14 how to write computer code and create games and programs.

The curriculum builds on technology most children are familiar with and then makes it a game to delve into how it actually works.

Following the ninja theme, the sensei, or instructor, will guide the students as they earn "belts" for each completed level.

"This goes beyond computers," said Norma Flores-Ibarra. "They will be learning problem-solving skills they can use for the rest of their lives."
