Alene Mae Ward - Onalaska, Wis.
LANESBORO — Alene Mae Ward died Sunday (Oct. 10, 2010) at the Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wis., at age 88.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 14) at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lanesboro, with the Rev. Kerry Eversole presiding. Burial will be in Lanesboro Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service Thursday at the church.
Alene was born July 3, 1922, in Pilot Mound Township, near Lanesboro, to Alfred Austin and Lilly Redalen. She was a 1940 graduate of Lanesboro High School. On March 5, 1946, she married Donald Victor Ward in Chatfield. Alene was a homemaker; her husband was a construction inspector in the family business, Ward Brothers.
Alene loved to cook and participate in church groups. She was a member of the Coffee Club for 50 years, and the Theos Club. She also operated an antiques shop in Lanesboro for 13 years.
Survivors include her husband, Donald; two daughters, Pat (Bob) Feidler of Alexandria, Va., and Kay (Tom) Evenson of La Crosse, Wis.; four grandsons and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
