Arlo Habben -- Chatfield

Arlo James Habben, 68, passed away Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Hospital - Saint Marys Campus in Rochester.

Arlo was born Aug. 10, 1949, in Albert Lea to Herbert and Eileen (Kaiser) Habben. He grew up in Waldorf, Minn.

Arlo served his county in the Navy. He was stationed in Virginia Beach, Va., and later Iceland.

He enjoyed working on BD-5 airplanes and attending airshows. He made many overseas trips exploring the world.

He worked in Agriculture Engineering helping farmers to design their dairy operations. In 1995, he started SMAES.

Arlo is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Jami Habben, of Austin, Texas; and grandchildren, Chance and Kyla Douglas. His business partner and friend, Tim Cepelak, of Stewartville, also survives.

Arlo is preceded in death by his parents.

Military Honors will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston.
