Bernard J. Arnold Sr. — Rochester

A funeral service for Bernard J. Arnold Sr., 77, of Rochester, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial of his cremated remains will be at Ft. Snelling Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Bernard James Arnold, Sr., was born July 28, 1936, in Natural Bridge, N.Y., to William and Mildred (Hunkerford) Arnold.

He passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Charter House with his wife and children by his side.

Bernard graduated from Natural Bridge Union High School. He served in the Army during the Vietman War and later retired after serving 24 years in the United States Air Force. He married Emily Carreon on April 3, 1986. They moved to Kasson in 1987, where he worked for IBM and later retired to Rochester in 2003.

Survivors include his wife, Emily of Rochester; his brother-in-law, Edel Carreon of Rochester; his children, Bernard Arnold, Jr., of Rochester, William (Claudia) Arnold of Fort Bragg, N.C., Jay Arnold of Rochester and Maria (Travis) Wagenmann of Fruitland, Idaho; his two dogs, Chiquita and Percilla; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Rosanna (James) Neddo of Croghan, N.Y., Ilene Arnold of Carthage, N.Y., and Alice (Gordon) Campany of Denmark, N.Y.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Wilfred, Myron and Stephen.
