Bernice I. Tri — Mazeppa

Bernice I. Tri, 92, of Mazeppa, died Thursday, April 10, 2014, at her home.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, at Mahn Family Funeral Home – Larson Chapel in Zumbrota, with Rev. Monsignor Robert Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Cemetery in Mazeppa. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com .

Bernice Isabel Schacht, was born Sept. 24, 1921, in Mazeppa Township, Wabasha County, to Edward and Rhoda (Elliot) Schacht. She attended school in Hammond. On Aug. 5, 1950, she married Norbert M. Tri at the Little Brown Church in Iowa. They lived in St. Paul until 1954 when they moved to Mazeppa where they made their home. Bernice worked at Knolton's Department Store, Red Owl in Rochester, Foley's Manufacturing in the Twin Cities, and had a greenhouse and floral shop with her husband.

Bernice enjoyed reading, quilting, and watching westerns on TV.

Bernice is survived by her children, Charlene (Quentin) Siems of Mazeppa, Rick Tri of Mazeppa and Pauline (Gary) Thompson of Lindstrom; grandchildren, Brock and Krista Siems, Jeremy, Brian and Dennis (Cassandra) Tri, Mark, Kelly and Jeff Thompson.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert who died on Dec. 30, 2008; grandson, Mikal Tri; brother, Edward Schacht Jr.; and sister, Helen Britton.
