Betty M. Benson - Blooming Prairie

BLOOMING PRAIRIE — Betty Maxine Benson, 87 of Blooming Prairie, died at Milestone Memory Care in Faribault, Minn., on Monday afternoon, Aug. 9, 2010.

She was born Dec. 7, 1922, to Verne Alvin and Beatrice Dolores (Waverin) Denny in Owatonna, Minn., where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1940. She married Richard Harold Benson on Dec. 23, 1946, in Owatonna. They made their home in Owatonna until 2005, when they moved to Blooming Prairie.

Betty enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and bowling. She moved to Milestone Memory Care in Faribault in April, 2010.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Benson of Blooming Prairie; and one son, Curtis (Barbara) Benson of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard Benson Jr. in 1972; and a brother, Donald Denny.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment is at Blooming Prairie Cemetery.
