Beverly J. Forthun - Shoreview

Beverly J. Forthun, 74, of Shoreview, formerly of Austin, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at Regions Hospital in Saint Paul.

Beverly was born Aug. 17, 1937, in Owatonna, to Chester and Dolores (Pavek) Albert. The family then moved to Austin, where she grew up with her brother, Gerald and her sister, Judy. Beverly was a 1955 graduate of Austin High School. In 1956, she was married to Sheldon Forthun. They lived in Austin where their three children were born. Sheldon and Beverly moved their family to Shakopee, in 1967 and that was their home until 1988 when they moved to Shoreview to run their business. They also had their lake home in Brainerd.

Beverly struggled with medical issues her entire adult life, but always stayed positive and strong in her faith. She was truly an inspiration to everyone that met her.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Sheldon, Shoreview; sons, Jeffrey (Diane) Forthun of Rosemount and Joel (Barbara) Forthun of Cottage Grove; daughter, Brenda (Tom) Richards, Plymouth; seven grandchildren; sister, Judy (Doug) Meany, Eagle River, Wis.; niece, nephews and a great-niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores and Chester and her brother, Gerald.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 15, at 1:30 p.m. at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin, with the Reverend Glenn L. Monson officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be at the mortuary for one hour before service.

Memorials will be forwarded to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
