Christine Knudson — Independence, Mo.
Christine Ann Knudson, 57, of Independence, Mo., passed away on Nov. 6, 2015, at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Chris was born on Oct. 7, 1958, at the Howe Maternity Home in Dodge Center, to Gladys and Robert Knudson.
Chris grew up in the Dodge Center area and graduated from Dodge Center High School in 1976. In 1981, she moved to Hot Springs, Ark., and worked at Arkansas Bank and Trust as a Senior Computer Operator until 1990. She then moved to Kansas City, Mo., and worked at Fleming Company as a Computer Operator until 1997. After Fleming closed, Chris worked a variety of jobs, including office manager, painting assistant, housekeeper and cook. In her free time, she enjoyed woodworking, cooking, casinos, gardening and loved her dogs, most recently her beloved Izzy.
She is survived by her sisters, Jan Klinger of Dodge Center, Barb (Tom) MacVey of Dodge Center, Konnie Kerrigan of Rochester, Julie (Dean) Suilmann of Wabasha, and her brothers, Butch Knudson of Dodge Center and John (Donica) Knudson of Kasson, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Gladys Knudson, a sister, Geraldine Knudson, and a nephew, Jacob Knudson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Dodge Center American Legion on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 4 p.m. Another Celebration of Life will be at the Verona Room in Kansas City, Mo., on Nov. 21 at 4 p.m.
