Christine Mae Riese - Rochester

ROCHESTER — Christine Mae Riese, 56, a resident of Rochester, passed away peacefully in the company of her family early Sunday morning, April 18th, at home.

Chris was born November 15, 1953, in Rochester to Richard and Arlene Chapman. She graduated from Mayo High School in 1972. She married and later divorced Ronald Riese of Rochester. She was a realtor for a few years, then was a daycare mom and foster care provider.

Chris had many interests that she enjoyed, but most of all she loved to garden. She especially enjoyed gardening with her two grandsons. She will be remembered for her green thumb and always having a giving heart and free spirit.

Chris is survived by her two daughters, Vanessa Riese of Rochester and Shannon (Chad) Schneider of Elgin, and two grandsons, Cody and Reece Schneider; her mother, Arlene B. Chapman Stueve of Rochester; three sisters, Bonnie Amos of Rochester, Lori (Mark) Dols of Rochester and Sharry Chapman of Rochester; two brothers, Richard Chapman of Rochester and John (Cassidy) Chapman of Texas; and her very good friend of many years, Joseph Towey of Rochester. She is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews, and 14 great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Chapman of Rochester.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 24th, at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

A memorial fund has been established at Associated Bank at 1155 16th St. S.W., in Rochester, in Christine's honor.
