Clarice Breuer — Lake City

Clarice Breuer, 91, of Lake City, passed away Jan. 30, 2016, at Diamond Rehab and Living Center in Cannon Falls, Minn.

Clarice was born April 22, 1924, in Minneapolis, to Elizabeth and Fred Carlson. She grew up in Minneapolis and then moved to Grantsburg, Wis., where she helped out on her grandfather's farm, and later graduated from high school. After high school, she moved back to Minneapolis, and while working in a bank she struck up a friendship with a co-worker who invited her down to Lake City to attend a dance. It was there that she met a young soldier on leave, and ended up being married to that soldier, Robert Breuer, for 65 years.

Clarice and Bob enjoyed boating and spending winters in Hawaii and Padre Island, Texas, after Bob's retirement.

Clarice is survived by three children, Patricia (Ralph Fifield) of Savannah, Ga., Todd Breuer of St. Cloud, Minn., and Leslie Ann (Scott Burfeind) of Prior Lake, Minn. Also to mourn her passing are eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Fern and Peggy; and her husband, Bob in 2008.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel. Visitation will be at Mahn Funeral Home one hour prior to the service. A private family burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Lake City.
