Curtis L. Buxton — Rochester
The memorial service for Curtis L. Buxton, 56, of rural Rochester, will be at noon Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Stewartville, with the Rev. Wane Souhrada officiating.
Buxton and his wife, Jen, died on Friday (June 10, 2016) from injuries suffered following a motorcycle accident on Marion Road in southeast Rochester.
Curtis Lee Buxton was born on Nov. 14, 1959, in Rochester, to Roger and Audrey (Kaldenberg) Buxton. He grew up in rural Chatfield, attended Chatfield schools, graduating from Chatfield HIgh School in 1978. He was employed at Servicemaster in Rochester for a few years and at that same time earned his boiler operator's license.
Curt was married on March 29, 1980, at Pilot Mound Lutheran Church in rural Chatfield to Debbie K. Dahl. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Chatfield, where they lived for many years. They were later divoriced. Curt was employed at IBM in Rochester and with Fluor Daniels Co. also at IBM for more than 30 years in waste management. Curt was married on June 14, 2008, at his home in Stewartville to Jennifer L. Boulais. Following their marriage, the couple lived for a short time in Stewartville, before moving to rural Rochester, where they continued to make their home.
Jen was employed with Sodexo Corp. in the Stewartville School District cafeterias for the past 15 years. Curt was a past member of Pilot Mound Lutheran Church in rural Chatfeld. He enjoyed four-wheeling, motorcycling and snowmobiling and especially enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren.
Curt is survived by his three daughters, Kaylee Kemper (Andy Miller) and Kimberly Poore both of Mantorville, and Korie (Jason) Krueth of Kasson; a stepdaughter, Haley Jacobson (John Laganiere) of Stewartville; a stepson, Tyler Jacobson at home in rural Rochester; 11 grandchildren, Trenton, Katelyn, Carter, Kolten, Kamren, Threadin, Brayden, Kole, Arihana, Khloe and Jaxson; and a brother, Douglas Buxton of Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
A time of visitation for friends and family will be from 10 a.m. until noon Wednesday at the church. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
