Daniel Allen Johnson — Junction City, Kan.

Daniel Allen Johnson, 49, of Junction City, Kan., died unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, in Junction City.

He was born in Winona, to the late Ronald Johnson and June Johnson, on Sept. 1, 1964, formerly of Brownsdale.

Daniel loved telling jokes, and it seemed he had a never-ending memory bank of them to tell. He also had a love of cooking, his favorite being Bar-B-Q grilling.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, Ronald Johnson.

He is survived by his children, a son, Ronald Johnson, of Texas, and Heather Johnson, of Kansas; along with grandchildren, Gabriel, Joshua and Dalton, all of Kansas; his mother, June Petzold; his siblings, Cherri (Doug) Thompson, Cindy (Chuck) Tindal, Donald (Nancy) Johnson, Brenda (Dave) Birch and Jacqueline (Jeff) Born; nieces and nephews, Sara Thompson, Christopher (Rose) Neal, Christine (Curt) Mickelson, Nicholas Tindal, Alex (Mallory) Birch, Lauren (Luke) Kirkham, Rachel Born and Tia Born; great-nieces and -nephews, JV, Aiden, Hunter, Kinlee, Bentley and Oakley; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation was held at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel in Junction City on Oct. 22, and graveside services were held Oct. 23 at the Veterans Cemetery near Manhattan, Kan.

His family would like to personally thank all of you who came to the services. It was very comforting to see and hear the wonderful words that were spoken of him.
