Daniel L. Larson — Millville
The funeral service for Daniel L. Larson will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Hilltop Fellowship Church, 58451 County Road 2, rural Millville, with Rev. Steve Buss officiating. Military rites will be by Millville American Legion Post 579 after the service.
Mr. Larson, 64, of rural Millville, passed away at his home on Monday, April 6, 2015, with his family by his side.
Daniel Lee Larson was born June 6, 1950, in Lake City, to Ronald and Grace (Warren) Larson. He attended elementary school in rural Wabasha County schools and in Farmington, and then the family moved to West Fargo, N.D., where he finished his schooling. Dan served in the U.S. Army from Nov. 17, 1969, to Nov. 5, 1971. On July 15, 1972, he married Patricia Weber in Hillsboro, N.D.
For the past 32 years, the Larson's have lived in rural Millville, where Dan farmed and was a truck driver for K.W. McKee through other ownership name changes for 38 years, retiring in 2012. Dan enjoyed spending his time tinkering, going to auctions, riding his motorcycle and going fishing. He especially enjoyed teaching his grandkids to fish and play checkers and card games. Dan was a member of the Teamsters Union and Hilltop Fellowship Church.
Dan is survived by his wife, Pat Larson, of Millville; one daughter, Cori Larson, of Rochester; two sons, Josh Larson, of Altura, and Jon (Lara) Larson, of Lake City; five grandchildren; his mother, Grace Larson, of West Fargo, N.D.; a sister, Clemmie (Brian) Buzick, of West Fargo, N.D.; and two brothers, Ronnie (Jackie) Larson, of Harwood, N.D., and Howard (Cathy) Larson, of Jamestown, N.D.
He was preceded in death by his father, an infant son and his grandparents.
Friends and family may visit from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 10, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel in Lake City, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
