Darlene Knutson -- Faribault

Darlene B. Knutson, 93, of Faribault, and formerly of Rochester, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home.

Darlene was born the fifth of six children, to Benjamin and Mae Christopherson of Ostrander, on May 29, 1923. She attended country school. She married Paul V. Knutson of Adams, at Bennington Lutheran Church, Ostrander, on Feb. 2, 1945. He preceded her in death in April 1983.

She is survived by three children, Paulette (Ronald) Jameson of Faribault, James (Cheryl) Knutson of Rochester, and Robert (Julie) Knutson of Spicer, Minn.; 11 grandchildren, Deanna (Barry) Johnson of Queen City, Texas, Denise (Brian) Powell of Edgerton, Mo., Danielle (Scott) Bailey of Danville, Ky., Darlene (Matt) Binder of Kamrar, Iowa, Paula (Nick) Goebel of Faribault, Ronda Jameson (Jake Bauernfeind) of Faribault, Jessica Knutson-DeLeon (Manuel) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Sara Knutson of Rochester; Kip Knutson of Minneapolis, David (Kelly) Knutson of Sartell, Minn., and Kelsey (Chad) Felstul of Fergus Falls, Minn.; 30 great-grandchildren plus two on the way, and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Johnson of Rockford, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Bergene of Adams; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her parents; one sister, Georgetta (Glenn) Domino; brothers, LeVern, Galen and Ewayne (Muriel) Christopherson; brothers-in-law, Carleton Johnson, A.J. (Bea) Knutson, and Donald Knutson; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 17, at Little Cedar Lutheran Church in Adams, with the Rev. Jeremy Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Little Cedar Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at Little Cedar Church. Memorials are preferred to Little Cedar Lutheran Church. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
