David Ganrude — St. Charles

David Brian Ganrude, 63, of Rochester, formerly of St. Charles, passed away Wednesday, March 2, at Samaritan Bethany Nursing Home. He resided there since July 2015.

He was born June 22, 1952, in Rochester, to Charlotte and Leo Ganrude. Dave attended Rochester schools, graduating from Mayo High School in 1970.

He was employed as a salesman/manager at several Rochester businesses, and then went to work as manager at SuperAmerica in Winona, Minn. He was employed there for many years, leaving due to his health.

Dave enjoyed bowling, and belonged to a men's league for many years. He was a golfer and was able to enjoy many years of golf, before his health failed. He was a big Vikings and Twins fan, always looking forward to game day.

Dave was a great father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and will be greatly missed. He is survived by one son, Christopher Ganrude of Pine Island; one daughter, Elizabeth Ganrude (Mark) of South Dakota; one granddaughter, Autumn Ganrude; one brother, Craig (Megg) Ganrude of Rochester; one sister, Linda (Dennis) Golberg of Rochester; three nieces, Melissa (George) Zula of Frisco Texas, McKenzee (Jon) Bowman of Rochester, and Nicole Ganrude (Jeff Schwalbach) of Rochester.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.

Macken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Honoring his wishes, there will be no funeral. He will be laid to rest at Grandview Memorial Gardens and be buried with his parents. There will be a private family service at a later date.

Our family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who took such good care of Dave at the northeast dialysis clinic. Dave was grateful for their care, concern, and kindness over the past years. We extend a huge thank you also to the staff at Samaritan Bethany Nursing Home and appreciate everything they did for Dave and our family.
