David R. Postier - Rochester

ROCHESTER — The memorial service for David Richard Postier will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 28, 2010, at Peace United Church of Christ in Rochester, with Rev. Kayla Bonewell officiating. Interment of ashes will be in Oakwood Cemetery with Military Honors. The visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Mr. Postier, 81, of Rochester, died Friday June 25, 2010, at Golden Living Center East, in Rochester.

David was born on October 9, 1928, in Rochester, to Henry J. and Amalia A. Sonnenberg Postier. David served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954 and was a Korean War Veteran. On January 3, 1959, he married Barbara A. Stewart at First Presbyterian Church in Rochester. He worked as a department manager at IBM for many years before retiring on April 1, 1990. He was a member of American Legion; ELKS Lodge; and Eagles Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Rochester; two daughters, Julie (Harvey) A. Bauer, of Milford, Kan. and Dr. Lori L. Postier (Christopher Metcalf), of Waterford, Wis.; one grandson, Lucas Metcalf, and one step-grandson, Tyler Metcalf; one sister, Marilyn R. Haglund, of Rochester. He is preceded in death by parents, three brothers and one sister.

Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or Peace United Church of Christ in Rochester.
