David Thomas — West Concord

David "Fud" Wayne Thomas, 58, of West Concord, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016.

David was born November 16, 1957, in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of Ray and Madeline "Dolly" (Pogones) Thomas. David was a 1976 graduate of West Concord High School. He married Pam Chicos on November 12, 1977, and in their union had four children. They were married 33 years and later divorced. David worked for Agri-King for 12 years and had a total of 20 years as a livestock feeding nutritionist. He also worked for Jennie-O-Turkey for three years and custom raised calves for local dairy farmers for many years.

David loved cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. He enjoyed farming along with raising cattle and chickens. He had a great love for John Deere tractors. He also enjoyed helping families in the community with lawn care and snow removal. David was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he attended Men's Bible Study.

He is survived by his mother, Madeline "Dolly" Thomas of Kasson; four children, Ray (and Annalee) Thomas of West Concord, Chad (and Laura) Thomas of Dodge Center, Daniel (and Jessica) Thomas of Byron, and Amy (and Chris) Freiderich of Dodge Center; and the mother of his children, Pam Thomas of West Concord; eleven grandchildren, Noah, Ella, Graden, and Logan Thomas, Weston and Brynn Thomas, Colton and Turner Thomas, Riley, Norah, and Allie Freiderich; brother, Gary (and Rita) Thomas of Spring Grove; sister, Bonnie (and Sandy) Michaud of Visalia, CA; many extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord on Sunday, June 12, 2016, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Concord on Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 13, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Concord with The Reverend James Rushton officiating. Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery in Concord Township.
