Dawn Renee (Maschka) Miller — Winona

Dawn Renee (Maschka) Miller, 51, of Winona, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus in Rochester.

Dawn was born Nov. 22, 1963, in Winona, to Francis and Lola (Rauk) Maschka. She was raised on a farm in Oak Ridge, and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1982. Throughout her life, Dawn worked as a CNA at Lewiston Villa, the turkey plant in Altura, a dietary aid at St. Anne Hospice, and as a housekeeper at Winona Health. She was married to Dennis Miller in 1984 and they were later divorced.

In her spare time, Dawn enjoyed shopping, visiting garage sales and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son, Jeffrey Miller of Lake City; father, Francis Maschka of Altura; special friend, Roy Lawson and his son, Nathaniel; siblings, David L. (Jeanine) Maschka of Winona, Danelle (Kevin) Chiarini of Rochester and Danna (Brian) Brown of Winona; nieces and nephews, Damian (Laura), Jennifer (fiance, Joe Lee), Nathan, Anthony and Vincent; and great-niece, Nora.

Dawn is preceded in death by her mother, Lola Maschka; sister, Darla Jo Maschka; infant children, Jenny and Jessica Miller.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone, with the Rev. Msgr. Thomas Melvin officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

The family prefers memorials be directed to an organization of the donor's choice.
