Delores M. Parker — Zumbrota

Delores M. Parker, 81, of Zumbrota, died on Monday, May 13, 2013, at her home in Zumbrota.

The funeral service will be on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Pine Island with Pastor Daniel Ashpole officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Prairie Cemetery in Rochester. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Delores Mae Wilson was born on Jan. 28, 1932, in Milton Township, Dodge County, Minn. to Lee and Alvina (nee Henning) Wilson. She grew up in rural Pine Island, attended country school and graduated from Pine Island High School in 1950.

On Dec. 16, 1950, she married Clifford G. Parker at the Assembly of God Church in Pine Island. They moved to Iowa and lived there for 15 years. In 1965, they moved to the Belle Creek area and started farming.

Clifford farmed and Delores worked at the Red Wing Shoe Co. for 30 years. Delores enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with her grandchildren.

Delores is survived by her children, Sharon (Darrel) Vieths of Goodhue, Linda (Arnie) Kroll of Cannon Falls, Dale Parker and special friend Tammie of Pine Island and Connie (Dean) Buck of Zumbrota; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Kathleen) Wilson of San Antonio, Texas; and sisters Lorraine (Jon) Olson of Zumbrota and Patty (Jerry) Dupont of Shreveport, La.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford in July of 2002; brother, Donald Wilson and her parents.
