Diane Dose
Diane Elizabeth Dose, 71, of Elgin, passed away Thursday evening, September 3, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Saint Marys Campus. She was born February 14, 1949 in Slayton, MN to Leo and Elizabeth (Hoffmann) Schmitz. Diane attended Parochial School in Currie, MN. After high school Diane attended Mankato Secretarial School for one year. On October 2, 1971 she married Donald Dose in Currie.
Diane was employed as Olmsted County Selective Service Director for three years, and then worked for Mayo Clinic in Rochester as a Medical Secretary for 39 years, retiring in 2010. She was a member of St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Plainview, and the Millville American Legion Auxiliary.
Diane is survived by her loving husband, Donald Dose of Elgin; daughter, Theresa (Peter) Homecillo of La Vista, NE; son, Gary (Michelle) Dose of Prior Lake; four grandchildren, Harrison, Macalester, Anderson, and Lauren; sisters, Donna (Vern) Bass of Okabena, MN; Deloris “Laurie” (Bob) Mandelkow of Red Wing, Marilyn (Lenny) Boerboom of Green Bay, WI, and Teresa Schmitz of Slayton; two brothers, Donald Schmitz of Slayton, and Father Michael Schmitz of Yankton, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Private Family Service will be held at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Plainview, with Father William Becker and Father Michael Schmitz officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in West Albany, rural Millville.
