Dolores 'Lita' Loosbrock — West Concord
Dolores "Lita" Loosbrock, 91, of West Concord, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at the home of her daughter, Barb Agerter in Rochester.
Dolores was born May 8, 1922, in Havana, Cuba, to Joseph Arabit and Dolores Gotay and was the youngest of four girls and two boys. Her family immigrated to the U.S. in 1938 and eventually moved to Houston, Texas, where Dolores met the love of her life, Francis "Louie" Loosbrock. Following Louie's honorable discharge from the Navy, the two moved to West Concord, where the heart of so many tender memories still beats.
Dolores' passion for life was evidenced in her love of teaching Spanish, dessert, and baseball; but her greatest treasure was her family. She had the ability to make every single person feel special, and as her son, Steve Loosbrock said, "we were all her favorite kid." In truth, all of them really were.
A life of faithful, enduring love, Dolores will be missed by many, and her legacy will live on through the love of her family.
She is survived by her children, Kathy Thorngren (and Charlie Scimeca), of Excelsior, Frank (and Lynn) Loosbrock, of Jacksonville, Fla., Steve (and Nancy) Loosbrock, of Golden Valley, Louie (and Diane) Loosbrock, of Edwards, Colo., Barb (and Dave) Agerter, of Rochester, Deb (and Mitch) Frederick, of Rochester, Diane (and Tom) Mirsch, of Rochester, Linda (and Tim) Derrington, of Kalamazoo, Mich., Dick (and Teri) Loosbrock, of Brandon, S.D., and Dean (and Jodi) Loosbrock, of Deephaven; 32 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded by her loving husband, Francis, and her grandson, Aaron.
Private family service will be held at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Rochester, with Father Joe Fogel and Father Kurt Farrell officiating. Interment will be at St. Vincent de Paul in West Concord. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Seasons Hospice in Rochester.
Arrangements by Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord.
