Doris 'Dottie' Swenberg -- Lake City

Doris (Dottie) Swenberg, 92, of Lake City, passed peacefully Saturday, Aug. 29, at her Lake City home.

She was born in Portsmouth, Va., where she met her husband, Walter, from Red Wing. They married in 1940 and moved to Long Beach, Calif., where he worked for the US Naval shipyard operations. In 1947, they moved to Rochester, and also maintained a residence in Naples, Fla., from 1966 until 2013.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 1997. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine (Tom); son, Walter Jr. (Mary); grandsons, Scot (Jessica) Swenberg and Eric (Mandy) Swenberg, granddaughter, Sarah Swenberg and three great-grandsons, Jack, Ben and Max Swenberg.

Her family would like to thank her friends for their care and love these last years. Also a special thank you to the Visiting Angels staff of Red Wing for their support and wonderful care. A special thank you to Mayo Clinic Hospice Staff, as well.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a charity of one's choice.
