Elaine E. Witte — Wabasha

Elaine E. Witte, 81, of Wabasha, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.

She was born June 9, 1931, in Weaver, the daughter of Irvin and Stella (Lamey) Theuner. She owned and operated Elaine's Beauty Shop in Rochester for many years and then worked as a unit secretary at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Her last 10 years of employment was with Pace Foods of Rochester. She retired in 1985. Elaine married Robert Witte May 17, 1952, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg. When they both retired in 1985 they moved to Lower Sand Prairie, rural Kellogg and they spent their winters in Arizona. The past several years the couple lived in Wabasha. Robert died July 14, 2009.

She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards and her trips to the casino.

Elaine is survived sisters, Catherine Cox, Wyandotte, Mich., Patricia Markwardt, Rochester, Shirley Drunasky, Kissimmee, Fla., Donna Brown, Romulus, Mich; brothers and sisters-in-law. Robert and Betty Theuner, Stewartville, Ralph and Barbara Theuner, Kellogg, Florence Kennebeck, Wabasha; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her parents, Irvin and Stella Theuner and brother, Virgil Theuner.

A funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg, with the Reverend Milo Ernster officiating. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Jeff, Mark, Richard, Tyler and Kyle Theuner and Craig Hameister.

Family and friends may call at the church on Tuesday one hour before the service.
