Elaine 'Rita' Engelbrecht — Rochester

The funeral for Elaine "Rita" Engelbrecht will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Pastor Adam Koglin officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery at 1 p.m. Saturday in Minneapolis. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

Elaine Rita (Lake) Engelbrecht, 80, of Rochester, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Paul, with family at her side.

She was born Feb. 21, 1933, to Leo and Antoinette Lake in Iron Mountain, Mich.Rita moved with her family from Michigan to Minneapolis at the age of 12. She moved to from Minneapolis to Rochester over 50 years ago with her husband.

She is survived by her brother, Ed (Elaine) Lake; and her sister, Doreen Huse; nieces, Carol (John) Vilender, Cathy Asunma and Diane (Ed) Frederick; and one nephew, Randy Asunma.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Duwayne E. "Duke" Engelbrecht who passed away on Jan. 10, 1988, and one brother, Paul Lake.

Memorials are preferred to Redeemer Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
