Ernest Dwayne Maasch, Sr. — Rochester
Ernest Dwayne Maasch, Sr., 63, of Rochester, passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at his home of cancer, which he battled for three years.
Ernest was born Sept. 14, 1950, in Rochester, to Ernest Raymond and Tammi (Parker) Maasch. He attended Pine Island schools and entered the U.S. Army. Ernest was a truck driver.
He loved anything to do with old cars and trucks and also liked western movies.
He is survived by three children, Tessa M. Knudson, Ernest D. Maasch, Jr., and Amanda J. Harper, all of Rochester; 10 grandchildren; his mother, Tammi Schultz of Red Wing; four siblings, Sandra Maasch of Zumbrota, April Wrolstad of Rochester, Barbara Maasch of Red Wing and Donald Maasch of Rochester; his estranged wife, Cindy Maasch; and a special friend, Patty Smith of Rochester.
He was preceded in death by his father, a daughter and a granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at the Salvation Army Citadel, 20 First Ave. N.E. in Rochester, with Major Frye officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
