Esther A. Sisson - Rochester

ROCHESTER — The funeral service for Esther A. Sisson will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Autumn Ridge Church, 3611 Salem Rd. S.W. in Rochester, with Pastor John Steer and Pastor Karen Foster co-officiating. Burial will be in the Chatfield Cemetery in Chatfield.

Mrs. Sisson, 91, of Rochester, died Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 13, 2010, at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.

Esther Anna Jero was born Jan. 13, 1919, in Spring Valley to Albert and Jenny (Davidson) Jero. She attended elementary and high school in Spring Valley. On July 10, 1949, she married Henry Sisson in Stewartville; he died on June 13, 2003. They lived in Rochester since 1959 where they managed the Deluxe Motel for 12 years. She was then employed by International Transport at Rochester for several years.

Esther lived in her present home since 1971. She enjoyed reading, cooking, fishing and studying the family genealogy.

Esther is survived by one son, Albert "Al" (Madelyn) Sisson of Plainview; three daughters, Gloria Sisson, Roxanne Ward, and Jenny (Richard) Garmers, all of Rochester; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one grandson, Micah; one brother, Leslie; and one sister, Ethel.

Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday, Oct. 27.
