Eugene Ray Lingk - Rochester
ROCHESTER — The Memorial Mass for Eugene Ray Lingk, 74 of Rochester, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, at the Church of the Resurrection in Rochester, with Rev. Kevin Connolly officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass on Monday morning. Burial will be in Beach, North Dakota, on Dec. 11, 2010.
Gene Lingk died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, of natural causes, in his home at Fontaine Towers in Rochester.
Eugene Ray Lingk was born on July 24, 1936, in Beach, N.D., to Ray and Margaret (Walters) Lingk, where he grew up on the family farm. Gene married Dorothy Nellermoe on Feb. 5, 1955, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Beach, N.D., and was later divorced. Gene, wife and daughters relocated to Rochester in 1968 where he became a manager at Hanny's.
Gene had many hobbies and interests, including ham radio operator, archeology and billiards. His dinosaur excavation was a major contribution to the field of archeology.
Gene is survived by his one daughter, Cheryl (Mark) Kieffer of Rochester; sister, Eleanor (Vince) Nistler of Beach, N.D.; sister-in-law, Christine Lingk of Rochester; son-in-law, Lee Gerads of Rochester; grandchildren, Jesse Kieffer, Joshua Gerads, Isaac (Christina) Kieffer, Jacob (Kelli) Gerads and Michael Gerads; and longtime friend, Lela Dillehay.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Charlene Gerads; mother and father; and brother, Leo Lingk.
