Faye M. Hoffman — Austin
Faye M. Hoffman, 76, of Austin, died at her home on Sunday, July 14, 2013.
Faye Marie Flessner was born Oct. 30, 1936, in Clay Center, Neb., to John and Cleo Flessner. She graduated from high school in 1955 and was employed with the Clay County Clerk's Office. She met her future husband at her twin sister's wedding. Faye was united in marriage to Harold L. Hoffman on Oct. 12, 1961, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Seward, Neb. Faye was a busy homemaker, raising four boys. She also worked outside the home as a house cleaner. She enjoyed reading, walking, cooking and baking. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Cleo Flessner; and her husband, Harold Hoffman.
Faye is survived by her sons, Wayne Hoffman of Austin, Bruce Hoffman of Westlake Village, Calif., Glenn (Dawn) Hoffman of Farmington and Larry Hoffman, of Apple Valley; grandchildren, Timothy Hoffman, Amanda Hoffman, Colin Hoffman and Sawyer Hoffman; twin sister, Freda (Rev. Roger) Hoffman of Syracuse, Neb.; brothers, John (Esther) Flessner of Boulder, Colo., Fred (Jana Lou) Flessner of Kearney, Neb.; aunts, Neva (Ernest) Faber of Iowa, Phyllis Gavin of Nebraska; brothers-in-law, Vernon (Margaret) Hoffman of Dexter, Minn., LaVerne (Norma) Hoffman and Dexter; and nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2013, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kristi Koppel officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
