Floyd Herbert Vehrenkamp — Apache Junction, Ariz.
Floyd Herbert Vehrenkamp, of Apache Junction, Ariz., died Friday, Aug. 11, 2017.
Floyd was born on July 30, 1932, to Herman and Gladys Vehrenkamp. He grew up on the family farm in Eyota, married Billy Belke and had three sons — Roger, Bruce and Paul. They later divorced, and he married Gertrude Udstuen in 1980. Floyd farmed and drove heavy equipment and mechanized heavy equipment. He retired and did many odd jobs.
Floyd and Gert enjoyed jeeping and spending time in the Arizona mountains. He also enjoyed feeding the birds and feeding rabbits.
He is survived by his wife, Gert; sons, Roger of Washington state and Paul of Portland, Ore.; daughters-in-law, Kathy and Rosemary; brothers, David of Eyota and Clyde of Eyota; sister, Mary Cummings of Dover; stepchildren; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bruce; a stillborn daughter; one grandson; and sister, Bernice.
A private family burial will take place at a later date.
