The funeral for Genevieve Threinen will be held at11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, with Father Paul Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Grandview MemorialGardensin Rochester. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at Macken Funeral Home.
Genevieve Threinen, 80, resided at Fairview Nursing Home inDodgeCenter, formerly of Byron, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013.
Genevieve was born Nov. 2, 1933, to Francis and Frances (Klein) Sutton in Rochester. She graduated from Lourdes HighSchoolin 1951. On April 11,1953, she married Richard Threinen in Rochester. The couple resided in Byron where they raised six sons. Mr. Threinen passed away in 1988. Genevieve worked in the kitchen at Saint Marys Hospital for 43 years. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Byron.
She is survived by her children, Steve of Milton, Pa., Ron of Georgia, Kevin (Carolyn) of Columbia Heights and John (Sherry) of Kasson; six grandchildren, Adam (Amber), Brandon (Katy), Jacob, Isaac, Emily and Sarah; three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Greg and Luke; six sisters, Lois Klein of Rochester, Pat Theim of Rochester, Kathy Boettcher of Peoria, Ariz., Mary Bellows of Byron, Connie (Ryan) Weihe of Rochester and Monica Sutton of Byron, three brothers, Chuck of Byron, Paul (Mary) of Dodge Center and Joe (Pam) St. Charles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,three sons, Mike, David and Jim, two brothers, Gene and Lowell and infantsister.
