George R. Bourdon, Jr. — Rochester

George R. Bourdon Jr., 90, of Rochester, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016, at The Homestead at Rochester.

George Robert Bourdon Jr. was born Oct. 19, 1925, to George and Janet (Zaiser) Bourdon in Red Lake Falls.

George attended Red Lake Falls High School, joined the Army Air Corp, and graduated from the University of North Dakota. George married Thrine Haga on Sept. 10, 1948, in Red Lake Falls. He worked as a Sales Manager at Sears for 34 years. George enjoyed woodworking and refinishing antiques with his wife. He also loved the outdoors, camping in the RV and traveling.

George is survived by his son, Gary (Starr) Bourdon of Elk River, Minn.; two grandchildren, Cody (Kymberli) and Nicole Bourdon; two great-grandchildren, Tera and Emmett; and one brother, Lyle (Patricia) Bourdon of Sun City, Ariz.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Thrine, and his parents.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, April 23, at 2 p.m., at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes' Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
