Gladys Larson -- Plainview

Gladys L. Larson, 95, of Plainview, passed away Aug. 22, 2018, at Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center in Plainview.

Gladys was born on May 31, 1923, to John and Mary (Jensen) Peters in Rochester. She attended school in Rochester.

On Nov. 21, 1940, she married Earl A. Larson. They were blessed with five children. They farmed near Rock Dell, and in 1948, they moved to a farm on top of the Elba hill, and retired from farming moving to Plainview. They spent many winters in Florida.

Her husband passed away in 2006. Gladys enjoyed playing cards.

Gladys is survived by two sons of Plainview: Leo (Barb) and Ed (Chris Horsman); two daughters, Ruth (Marlyn) Moechnig of Frontenac, and Joan (Jim) Pyfferoen of Altura; one sister, Betty Pyfferoen of Rochester; seven grandsons; six granddaughters; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Mark; her parents; five brothers and five sisters.

Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview, with Pastor Phil Augustine officiating. Burial is at Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26 at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.

Memorials preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview.
