Harold William Ferguson — Lewiston

Harold William Ferguson, 86, of rural Lewiston, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at Lake Winona Manor.

Harold was born Oct. 14, 1926, in Lewiston, to John and Dora (Henry) Ferguson. He attended school in Utica through the 8th grade to work on the family farm. He moved with his parents and siblings to rural Fremont where they lived for many years.

Harold and Darlene Schott were married May 4, 1963, in Lewiston. Darlene was a good caregiver for her husband. In May, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family.

He was a member of St. Paul's Church. Harold enjoyed farming, going to auctions and sales barns, Winona County Fair in St. Charles, holiday gatherings, birthdays and horse racing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene; three daughters, Jeanette (Jim) Tomlin, of Onalaska, Wis., Joyce (Steve) Buckbee, of Lewiston, and Candie (Jeff) Landro, of Winona; grandchildren, Laura, Nicole and Brandon Tomlin, Jordan, Justin and Jessica Buckbee. He also is survived by sisters, Della Malmin and Doris (Merle) Bearden, both of Rochester; brothers, Gordy (Linda) Ferguson, of Dover, Stan (Sue) Ferguson and Junior Ferguson, both of Winona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Orville, sisters, Bernice and Hazel, sisters-in-law, Germaine and Eva; and brothers-in-law, David Green and Bernard Heim.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at St. Paul's Church in Lewiston, with the Rev. Louise Stromberg officiating. Burial will follow at Fremont Scotch Cemetery.

Friends may call at St. Paul's Church from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, and one hour before services on Saturday.
