Helen M. Bjork - Lansing

LANSING — Helen Mae Bjork, age 93, of Lansing, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at the Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center.

Helen was born May 24, 1916, in Richland Township, Iowa, to George and Tillie (Lohse) Abbas. She worked as a cook.

Survivors include five daughters, Roberta (Edward) Pinkava of Austin, Norma (Richard) Stiernagle of Owatonna, Marilyn Ailts of Hudson, Wis., Eloise (Gerald) Teschau of Owatonna and Lola (Roland) Hanson of Blooming Prairie; a son, Rodney (Alice) Bjork of Raleigh, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and a brother, Harold Abbas of Janseville, Iowa. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Bjork; and three sons, Franklin Sprung, Ronald Sprung and Robert Bjork.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin, with Rev. Kristi Koppel officiating. Interment will be in the Lansing Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mayer Funeral Home.
