Janet R. Bade — Frontenac

Janet R. Bade, 61, of Frontenac, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Janet was born June 21, 1952, in Algona, Iowa, to Paul and Julia (Doocy) Miller. In 1971, Janet graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City. Janet married Donald Bade May 21, 1977, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City. They made their home in Frontenac after they were married. She worked at the Lake City Nursing Home for 27 years.

Janet was a member or St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frontenac. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, bowling and most of all spending time with her friends and family.

Janet is survived by her husband, Donald; daughter, Danielle (Jason Dankers) Hagedorn of Frontenac; a son, David (Tiffany Burkhalter) of Roseville; two grandchildren, Carter and Kalynn; father, Paul Miller of Lake City; a sister, Carol (Joe) VanHouten of Lake City; two brothers, Gerald (Dorie) Miller of Lake City and John (Judy) Miller of Apple Valley.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Julia.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 22, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frontenac, with the Rev. Stephan Kurtzahn officiating. Burial will be at a later date at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church.
