Jean Feldt — Cottonwood, Ariz.
Jean Feldt, 80, of Cottonwood, Ariz., peacefully passed Saturday, March 17, 2012, at her home, after a short battle with cancer.
She was born Feb. 17, 1932, in Rochester, daughter of George and Dolores Krudwig. She married Lawrence Feldt of Spring Valley in 1950, and together they raised seven children.
She was a talented seamstress, cook and gardener. Jean out-fished her husband for walleyes and along with her family, planted over one million trees for reforestation in northern Minnesota. She loved to travel, spending winters in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
She will be remembered for her laughter, generous nature and style.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry; grandson, Peter; and sister, Barbara.
She is survived by her children, Michael of Rimrock, Ariz., Michele (John) of Duluth, Mark (Deborah) of Cottonwood, Ariz., John (Pam) of Silver Bay, Robyn of Minneapolis, Elizabeth (Chris) of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Kathryn (Steve) of Duluth; two brothers, John of Rochester and Jim of Oronoco; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held March 31 at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville at 11 a.m.
Donations in Jean's memory will go to benefit the building of the Verde Valley Medical Center Hospice Home.
