Jean Mitchell -- Sauk Centre, Minn.

Jean M. Mitchell, age 55, of Sauk Centre, Minn., died Sunday, April 2, 2017, at the CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 7, at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre, with Deacon Lawrence Kaas officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery following the service.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Jean Marie Mitchell was born June 26, 1961, in St. Cloud, Minn., to Paul and Mary (Neal) Mitchell, alongside of her twin sister, Julie. She graduated from Mayo High School in Rochester in 1979. After high school, Jean went on to Alexandria Technical College and took some courses there. While attending Alex Tech, she worked as a nursing assistant in home health. Jean moved to Washington in 1983 and moved back to Minnesota in 2001. While in Washington, she worked for the VA and Blue Cross Blue Shield as a benefits clerk.

Jean used to do embroidery and needlework. She also enjoyed baking and liked to read. Jean was a very giving person all her life. She will be remembered as the shopper of the family. She had a passion for shopping, whether it be online or going to a store, it was what she enjoyed most.

Survivors include her silbings, Mary Kay (Paul) Kukowski of Boise, Idaho, Paul (Debbie) Mitchell of Duluth, Dennis (Carol) Mitchell of Apache Junction, Ariz.,, Diane Landrum of Pine Island, her twin sister, Julie (Marc) Dahl of Everett, Wash., and Jim (Phyllis) Mitchell of Fort Belvoir, Va., and many nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Peggy Kerr.

Serving as casket bearers will be Dylan Landrum, Travis Landrum, Jacob Gallegos, Brad Mitchell, Thomas Mitchell, Steve Haskamp, Jason Haskamp, and Ronnie Barhorst.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
